BLOG 2-Obesity in America

In America, who would have known that a main cause of health problems and death rates came from the problem of Obesity? Out of all of the Countries in the world, America is the number one country with the most obese women, men, and children. Adult rates now exceed 25 percent in 31 states and exceed 20 percent in 49 states and Washington. Two thirds of American adults are either obese or overweight. From time to time, the rates have increased, and the question is why?
In 1991, no states had an obesity rate over 20 percent, but now sixteen states have experienced an increase from obesity for the second year in a row, and eleven states experienced an increase for the third year straight. Mississippi has the highest rate of obesity at a 44.4 percent, especially children from the ages of 10 to 17. Minnesota and Utah come in last, with the lowest rate at 23.1 percent. When comparing the States, from eight to ten states, the highest rates of obesity come from the south. Not only does obesity relate to health issues, Obesity ensures that every adult and child should have access to cover for preventive medical services. Especially, out of adults and children, the rates of children are high. So there needs to be many precautions and changes in people’s diet plans to what they feed children at school.
In conclusion, America needs better ways to fix the problem of obesity. Health is the number one problem in today’s society, and being Obese, sadly makes it harder. Anything could be done to prevent these problems, including changing what people eat at home to what they put in people’s foods at restaurants. It will only make people feel healthier and looks better if they stick to it as well.
