BLOG 1- Maine East Football 101

Ever heard of the phrase practice makes perfect? Well apparently that phrase took over the Maine East Football team and worked like a charm. The Maine East football players had a summer of hell. Everyday was practice but Sundays. Most importantly they were the first to practice as a team at midnight.

Maine East had a reputation of being “Maine Easy,” and having a 4 year losing streak, but on the night of August 28, 2009, which they had a defeat over Schurz High school with a score of 19- 9, The Blue Demons broke that streak and the body of Maine East can be proud of them for all the hard work they put in and how much they accomplished.
Opposing the victory, from the opinion of students on the campus and off of the campus, they always had negative things to say about how the football players played but, they were proven wrong. Randy Lee, a senior on the Maine East football team had to say, “It was hard to deal with everyone in school saying something, so it was nice to shut them up. Now everyone is cheering us on.” His words are true! Ever since the big win, the Maine East students have come together and brought out happiness and joy with one another. Not only was it great for the team to break a streak, but for the students of Maine East, they can be proud of what was broken.
The question is how will this steak keep going? Alex Bojic, a senior, said, “We practice hard all week and we just use people’s doubts as motivation.” Well until the next game, we shall see.
